seat preference, single ticket, railcard, book tickets, payment….

1.   Manage time ⌚️

Train doors close up to 45 seconds prior to departure.

2.   Platform and status

On time / expect/ cancelled /call at /

3.     Get on board  上车

???? button

4.     Find your seat 找座位

5.     Delayed or cancelled?

(1)engineering works

Whether we’re maintaining tracks and signals or replacing a bridge as part of larger-scale engineering works, we do everything possible to keep disruption to a minimum.

These knock-on delays often affect both the route with the issue and any connecting routes.

We may cancel trains so that there is space on the tracks for delayed trains to complete their journey quickly.

(3)Leaves

When leaves fall, they stick to damp rails, and passing trains compress them into a smooth, slippery, layer that reduces the trains’ grip.

To keep passengers' safe, train drivers then have to brake earlier when approaching stations and signals to avoid overshooting, and accelerate more gently to avoid wheel spin.

(4)Snow and ice ❄️

(5)Landslips

A landslip (also known as a landslide) on the railway is generally defined as when soil, rocks and earth fall onto and either wholly or partially obscure the track.

(6)Vandalism and trespass

Certain parts of the railway, including stations, underpasses and level crossings, are open to the public. But when people go onto the tracks, embankments or other areas, they are trespassing.

Vandalism includes graffiti [ɡrəˈfiːti], litter,fly-tipping乱丢垃圾 and damage to fences, signs and tracks.

Solutions:

We may miss out stops to make up time, or add stops to make sure we get everyone where they need to be – even if they are a little late getting there.

Sometimes, we may have to cancel all trains in the affected area for an hour. This is the quickest way to get trains running on time again.
